This is a very sad and tragic time for Geauga County.
I know I can speak for everyone when I express my deepfelt sorrow for the families and friends of the injured and deceased children.
I also feel great sorrow for the family of T. J. Lane, the boy who did the shooting. I know that many of you might not feel the same way, but think of the horror you would be filled with for the rest of your life if you were to recieve a phone call that your child had just shot and killed several other children. This troubled boy has ended several lives and permanently devastated many others, including his own, and will pay dearly for his actions, and will deserve it.
The horror and sadness of this senseless tragedy cannot be described with words. There are no words. It is difficult enough to even try to comprehend this.
I want to thank all of the people, wether it be school officials or a citizen, who took the time to console or help others in their own little way. It really matters, big time. It is an amazing thing to see a community come together like Geaugans did in a time of crisis. I also want to thank our Sheriff, Dan McClelland, for how prepared he and his department were for this, how quick their response time was, and how efficient they were.
I remember when I was in high school in the late 60's. You never heard of things like this happening. From kindergarten through high school we had prayer in school.... we had a more moral society.... society would not tolerate what it tolerates today.
We have allowed our politicians and corporations to kick GOD out of our schools, courtrooms, city halls, and other public buildings. This is a tragedy in itself. When you kick GOD out, what takes HIS place? I don't think I have to answer that for you.
I ask that you pray for all of these children and their families. Please also pray for Geauga County, that we keep it conservative, strong, and include GOD in it.
We need to contact our school superintendents and demand that prayer be put back in the schools. That would be a great start.
