Letter to the Editor:
Commissioner Robert Weisdack is not a friend of mine, and I see no conciliation in the near future. But I have to give this man his due respect for some of the really important things he has done for the community in general. It was Robert Weisdack who led the fight to keep local control and management of our septic and water rights issues. This is no small feat.
Many residents have told me that Mr. Weisdack is a very dedicated employee and has served Geauga County quite admirably in his capacity as Commissioner of the Health Department. They say he is earnest and dedicated and even though I will be challenging the Geauga Health District in the near future, I have to commend Mr. Weisdack for all of his accomplishments and hard work.
Sadly, Robert Weisdack and I got off to a challenging start, to say the least, thanks to Commissioner Mary Samide. When I first moved here and had concern about issues regarding septic installation, regulations, etc., I contacted my Commissioner's Office and spoke with Mary Samide. Mary Samide actually told me, "What can I tell you about Robert Weisdack, we are all so embarrassed of him when he makes a presentation in Columbus..." And that is not the worst of what she shared with me. I was stunned that a person in her position would be so disloyal as to attack a man's character, especially a person with whom she had worked for years. The words about her colleague were harsh, but more to the point, what she said spoke volumes of her own character.

Judy.... you're not surprised about this are you? Anyone that knows the REAL Mary would not be.
