In Geauga County we have a very important election on May 3rd for the open County Municipal Court seat.
In choosing a Republican candidate from three potential runners, it has become a political nightmare because there are factions within the Republican Party in Geauga County that are not really taking this election cycle seriously.
Of the three Republicans running, no one has provided any information about each candidate's backgrounds.
I would have thought that the Republican Party would have vetted these individuals, but apparently we lack leadership in the Party for such a venue.
You see, when you apply for a job you need to show the reasons why you should be hired, and of the three candidates not one of them has come forth with their resume for the people to see, and make a decision as to whom is the best qualified, that I have seen to date.
We have people in the Republican Party that are asking us to support a candidate that we basically know nothing about. To me, this is political cronyism all over again, or business as usual. Sounds to me like the good old boys club, and look what that has given us.
On May 3rd we will be choosing one of these three candidates to run in the November election, and the winner will be interpreting the laws of our State. We will have to live with their decisions for the term of this office, and if we get it wrong it will impact our rights under the laws of Ohio, and maybe further decay of our rights as citizens.
I am not here to slam any candidate, but I am encouraging you to do your own home work on these candidates. I encourage you all to look up each persons background, and make a reasonable attempt to vote correctly, and not to vote for someone because someone else has asked you to. You should not make your vote based on someone elses opinion or beliefs, because this is just wrong and business as usual in Geauga County.

Thanks Mike, good letter.
You are right....this is an important race and the Republican Party in Geauga has become a nightmare! It is in a shambles with NO leadership! It is like a runaway stagecoach having no driver with just the dumb horses running it wild.
As I see it, you have chaos in the Geauga Rep Party, and for good reason.
First, you have the Geauga County Republican Women's Club....the second Geauga Rep Party....it's like having a Party within a Party. They are vicious about keeping CONTROL of the Rep Party. Why is it neccessary to have a separate "Club" within that Party. Aren't they all just Republicans? Then you have some loose cannons there who want control, shooting their mouths off with inaccurate information. To top it off you have a NON LEADER like Ed Ryder who thinks HE is chairman of the Party and running things.
It's laughable! All these people at odds with each other in the Rep Party because all they are really concerned about is CONTROL! They are ALL responsible for the ruination of the Geauga Republican Party....it has become a joke!
Did I mention all the R.I.N.O.S. in the Geauga Rep Party? That's a whole nother story I don't have time for here.
There is no cohesiveness....these different factions are backing different candidates....there is no proper, thorough vetting. It's like....vote for this person because we ask you to do it as a favor. No one should do that.
The Geauga Rep Party HAD a good conservative leader in Lou Mucci, but that "Women's Club" was responsible for getting rid of him for their own personal agenda reasons and now they are stuck with Ed Ryder whom they thought they could control.
Mike, I will have to disagree with you on one point concerning lack of info about the candidates. In all the campaign literature I have seen so far, Dan Bond has the most extensive info about himself than the other two. Coyne's literature reveals no info at all....it just repeats the names of police and elected officials (good old boys club) who endorse him. I don't trust that. Lynch literature has really no info about himself either.
Voters....please make sure you get the right info about candidates to make a sound decision.
NOTE: There are even some women in the "Women's Club", who behind the scenes, are not on the same page as the rest of them on many issues.
