"But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:" John 12:37 KJV
What kind of fool would it take to watch leper’s spots vanish, the blind see, the dead raised, and the lame leap for joy and still not believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
To go even further, He allowed ruthless Romans to torture and crucify Him, then walked out of a heavily guarded, sealed tomb, passing right through the
stone. The tomb was sealed with concrete. The earthquake opened the tomb to reveal His absence, not to release Him.
He raised Himself from the dead, defeating death by dying!
Yet, there are fools who still do not believe! Believer’s witness untold countless works of God in their lives and the lives of others, not to mention His miraculous spot-on timing and provision, and yet, at the first sign of trouble they head for the dungeons of doubt and despair!
It seems that the more God does for men the less they trust and believe Him. Why? It seems the longer we know Him the less we trust Him.
As if, dying on the cross, raising Himself from the dead, and giving us immortality wasn’t enough. Believers are not only forgiven, but made joint-heirs with Christ of eternity’s wealth!
Yet, we still whimper and complain.
Believers are promised untold pleasure and wealth
yet are not content with the bountiful provision from the Lord’s riches. They are given eternal life, but continue to
wallow in the temporal.
Don’t call yourself a believer if you “believe not.” Don’t call yourself a Christian if you “believe not.” Don’t call yourself a disciple if you follow not. Don’t pretend to know God if you spend no time with Him.
Your lack of faith will blind you to Truth and all your carefully laid plans will fail.
Proper decisions cannot be made outside of Truth. You may think you know what to do, but if you deny Truth, you will perish.
“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Truth will free you
from doubt and death.
All men behold God’s handiwork,
And blindly, still the Truth they shirk,
They’ll never see God’s wealth unfold,
Because sin’s baubles they’ve been sold. ~CGP
Real treasure must be hunted. It must be dug up. Truth is treasure. It is God’s wisdom revealed to mortals. You
cannot take any earthly acquisition beyond death’s door except Truth, so why do we waste our lives in pursuit of
things we must abandon at death’s door? All that glitters is not gold!
"But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price
thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is
not with me. It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. It cannot be
valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. The gold and the crystal cannot
equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral, or of
pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies." “Job 28:12-18 KJV
