I read an article in The News-Herald on May 1, 2009 that was written by Lake County Common Pleas Court Judge Eugene A. Lucci titled “Stop ignoring the 10th Amendment”. This article clearly indicates that Judge Lucci understands the history of our nation and that the Tenth Amendment is the foundation of the Constitution. The 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.” The entire article stresses the importance of the Constitution, returning to our federalist form of government and the fact that Congress should obey the Constitution.
Since then I have heard Judge Lucci speak several times. He is experienced and he really cares about the people of our State.
He has served over 34 years as a police officer, a trial attorney and a trial judge. He is endorsed by the Portage County Tea Party, The Lake County Bar Association, Mentor Patrolman’s Association, Lake County Republican Party, Fraternal Order of Police, and many other groups.
Judge Eugene A. Lucci and his opponent Judge Colleen Mary O’Toole each submitted Portage County TEA Party Candidate Survey forms. You may view or print these forms at the Portage County TEA Party website or Judge Lucci’s website.
I found these forms revealing. For example:
Judge Lucci understands that our rights as American citizens emanate from our Creator. Judge O’Toole believes that our rights as American citizens come from the Constitution’s Bill of Rights.
Judge Lucci understands that the basic foundation of strength for our nation is its people, their belief in God and morality, their forming strong family units, their entrepreneurial spirit, and their devising a constitutional republic whereby power flows upward from the people rather than downward from the government. Judge O’Toole believes that the basic strength is our people and our tripartite branch form of government as established in the U. S. Constitution Articles I, II, and III. She also believes that the federal government and the principle enumerated in the U. S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are drafted to ensure a free, safe, and stable democracy whereby civilized society can go and prosper.
Nineteen opinions written so far by Judge O’Toole have been accepted by the Ohio Supreme Court for review. Fifteen of those 19 have been reversed as erroneous by the Ohio Supreme Court.
I truly believe that Judge Eugene Lucci is the most qualified person for this position.

Thanks for the letter Deborah.
The Portage County Tea Party survey form filled out by Colleen O'Toole is just more proof of her lack of understanding of the foundation of our rights....or maybe it's not a lack of understanding but rather a different set of beliefs and values she holds that are contrary to the founding of this nation.
THIS IS NOT SURPRISING!
In her answers on the survey, in her own handwriting, O'Toole convicts herself of what we have stated in several previous posts concerning her embracing the marxist/communist theories of Moral Relativity and Secular Humanism, both of which are related to evolution....ALL of which exclude GOD from the picture.
Her embracement of these theories and her answers on the survey corroborate each other. Almost like a double witness.
Clearly, in these times of rotting decay of our rights, Constitution, and morals, there is an urgent need and necessity for people in office who understand, embrace and apply the founding principles of America....and....
that person is Judge Eugene Lucci !!
