Moderates want it both ways. They want to please everyone. They are neither HOT nor COLD. They want their feet in both camps. They are big compromisers and want to be viewed as great negotiaters.
Many of our elected servants are moderates, wether they state so or their actions show it. They don't have have any real principles or the character to stick to them and do the right thing no matter what, no matter what people think, no matter who doesn't like it. They practice avoidance, compromise, and lying. They have to lie, as the nature of a moderate is to tell people what they want to hear, so as not to make waves or make people angry. They want those votes to keep comming in. They want to be loved by everyone.
In order to serve the people properly, elected servants MUST do the right thing all the time, without compromise, even in the face of great opposition or threat, but most are only concerned with their re-election. Only a principled person with honesty, strong character and backbone can do that.
Moderates cannot do that, they really stand for nothing. The people will NEVER be served well by them. When will they understand..... you can't have your feet in both camps..... that is a historical fact.
Our founding fathers were not moderates.... had they been, we would never have gained our freedom.
